PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Harrison County Board of Commissioners is developing a federal-aid project to construct a new roadway near Lanesville, Harrison County, Indiana. The current phase of the project, Phase 3 (Des. No. 1702960), begins at the end of Phase 2A of the project (Des. No. 1383370) at Old Lanesville Road and extends north approximately 0.7 mile to SR 64.  The Phase 3 project extends approximately 0.2 mile west to 0.4 mile east of the proposed intersection of the Lanesville Connector along SR 64. The purpose of the proposed project is to improve traffic flow between SR 64 and I-64 and to relieve existing traffic delays at the town of Georgetown. The need is based on recent and projected population growth in this area, as well as current traffic congestion issues at the Georgetown interchange and through the town of Georgetown.
