East Granville Street Widening Project (DEL-SR37-22.326)
PID NO. 122007
SUNBURY, DELAWARE COUNTY, OHIO
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The City of Sunbury's Planning & Engineering Division, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Transportation, is planning a project to improve East Granville Street (State Route 37). The project consists of the widening and reconstructing of approximately 1,500 feet of East Granville Street from just west of Morning Street to east of Letts Avenue. The existing two lanes are 10-feet wide and will expand to 12-feet each. The project also includes construction of a new pedestrian bridge and associated retaining walls for future connection to the Ohio-to-Erie Trail. Sidewalks on both sides of East Granville Street, or a 10-foot wide shared-use path on one side of the roadway, are planned. The proposed project will improve pedestrian and motorist safety concerns along East Granville Street and support the efforts of connecting the Ohio-to-Erie Trail, linking the Ohio River to Lake Erie while attracting tourism to the city for trail users.
